We were lucky enough to spend a few days at Frisbo Lodge and Camp – and it was simply fantastic. The location is stunning: absolute tranquility, fresh air, and breathtaking views of the lake and forest. Perfect for unwinding and recharging.
The accommodations are designed with great attention to detail – rustic yet very comfortable. We especially loved the combination of natural charm and thoughtful amenities (comfy beds, fire pit, everything spotless). It’s clear that this place is run with genuine care.
The hosts were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always available. They gave us great recommendations for hikes and excursions and were attentive with little touches that made us feel truly welcome – like visiting friends.

We had a lovely night in one of the wigwams. The host gave us good advice on how to reach the place, since I wasn't used to driving through the snow. The route from Stockholm was really fine and although it was around -10, it was so cosy and warm inside. We loved the bantu-snow experience and had a great Christmas dinner. The surroundings are beautiful. Thanks a lot for sharing this wonderful place and making it so cosy.

Vi hade en supermysig vistelse hos Alexandra och Philippe. Frukostkorgen var som pricken över i:et morgonen efter. Det enda som var synd var att behöva åka hem till vardagen igen.

This is a very special and memorable place. Absolutely beautiful surroundings, very peaceful and a great place to fully decompress in nature.
The wigwam was wonderful; it was so cosy and comfortable, and had all the luxuries you could want whilst glamping. Everything had been carefully thought of and it felt like walking into a nice hotel room in the middle of the forest.
The breakfast basket that Philippe brought us each morning was a really nice touch, and the food was delicious with local bread, jams, honey, ham, cheese, tea, coffee and more.
It was so nice being able to walk down a private walkway to the lake where you can freely use the boat or canoe.
I was also really impressed with the toilet, very clean and comfortable!

(We were also extremely lucky to see the northern lights due to a cloudless night and no light pollution at all. And this was in mid-August!)

Ich habe das Wigwam von Philippe und Alexandra für meinen 8-jährigen Sohn und mich gebucht, weil mein Sohn gerne im Wald zelten wollte (mir das in Nordschweden aber alleine zu riskant war). Dieses Glamping Abenteuer war für uns die perfekte Idee. Und unsere Erwartungen wurden noch übertroffen! Wir haben die zwei Nächte und Tage so sehr genossen, es war traumhaft schön. Die zwei Gastgeber waren entspannt, freundlich und immer für uns da, es fehlte uns an nichts. Egal, ob wir draußen eller im Kamin ein Feuer angezündet haben, die Sauna eine ganze Stunde nur für uns hatten, auf dem ruhigen See Kanu gefahren sind oder einfach das Zelt von innen eller die Landschaft genossen haben - jede Sekunde war einmal schön. Tausend Dank an Philippe und Alexandra für diese unvergessliche Erfahrung! Wir kommen ganz bestimmt mit dem Rest der Familie wieder - dann gerne in eurem neuen Familienzelt!

We had an amazing stay here on new years eve! The wigwam was so spacious, clean and cozy. There was plenty of wood to keep a fire going outside as well as the furnace inside to keep the wigwam toasty and warm through the night! The hosts were super helpful with everything we needed as well. The area is SO beautiful, the bastu was great and we can 100% recommend staying here! We would love to come back again during the summertime.

It is great. We stayed one night in the wonderfull big tent. Out of the bed you will have a nice view over the lake.
The hosts are very nice and helpful and they make you feel welcome. You will get a good instruction in everything you can use. There is a nice sitting area, a fireplace, boats and a little platform on the lake. The breakfast with fresh and warm bread plus the tasty coffee was a nice ending of our trip to the glamping area.

We took a short tour at the lake with one of the canoes + a bath before returning to our wigwam. The tent was awesome and clean.
It was very cozy and romantic, during the nights it gets really cold so you have to keep the stove buring (wood is provided in abounds) and get really close to your partner to warm up. They also give you tips to go hiking and see the area. And talking about a view, when waking up you are welcomed by a super nice view of the woods.
We will definitely be returning!

Un accueil parfait des hôtes qui avaient pris soin de chauffer la tente avant mon arrivée (-15 la nuit !), et de mettre à disposition une belle quantité de bois pour le poêle. J’ai dormi au chaud, dans un calme fabuleux au milieu des bois avec vue sur le lac (c’était une nuit de pleine lune). Frisbo Lodge est un lieu formidable pour des vacances hors du commun. Beautiful small eco lodge at a wonderful and quiet location. We stayed for 2 nights with our kids and we all loved it. NO problem to heat up the tent with the stove even in - degrees. Perfect for a family or couple looking for a get away in the woods. Authentic and soulwarming.

Good to prepare food in a fire and tent includes good equipment and food pantry to cook. Nice lake and bastu. Little bit hard to find with Google Maps and if you miss the road sign but Philippe was really helpful and picked us up from close by.

What an amazing place to stay!! We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 kids (4&6) and loved it so much! It was raining when we arrived but they had already light the fire in the tent (warm and so cosy) and outside so we could cook at night. The place is so much more beautiful in real than on the pictures. Philippe also provided some tips to visit some hidden gems in the neighbourhood. We loved the beach they recommended… great hosts and an even more awesome location. Highly recommended!!

The entire place is really thought-through, with a huge variety of equipment e.g. for cooking and for staying in the tents! Everything was really clean and we felt super cozy and comfortable. At the lake we were able to use kayaks and a rowing boat and explore the area. He also offers an amazing bastu! For us, it was the perfect mix of adventure and a nice place to stay. Will definitely come back 😉

Magical stay in the middle of nature
Magical stay in an unique environment. All the beauty of the direct contact with nature without any discomforts. On the contrary: the tents are big, perfectly organized, the owners thought about everything one might need (matchers, wood for the barbecue, anti-mosquito spray, salt and oil in the common kitchen, a stove…). Also, free boat or canoe tours on the little private lake. Just priceless. We strongly advise to preparare a barbecue for dinner.

Fantastisk plats! Vi var där nu i helgen, alltså i ett vinterland. Det var fantastiskt vackert och mottagandet var toppen. Mötte upp oss, visade oss campet och alla funktioner. Värdarna gjorde verkligen det lilla extra för att skapa den bästa upplevelsen för oss. Vi grillade över öppen eld tillhörande tältet och temperaturen inuti tältet var över förväntan - vi trodde vi skulle frysa något i detta väder men elden höll värmen ordentligt. Ett extra plus var att toalettsitsen var gjord i ett material som inte blev kallt. Starka rekommendationer!

Hjälpsam och trevlig host som hade bra fingertoppskänsla för att finnas till hands utan att vara påträngande. Jättefint tält i bra läge med mycket tillhörande kökstillbehör och en stor bonus av att vedeldad bastu och kanoter ingår i priset. Frukostkorgen var god och lyxig samt väl anpassad efter vår vegetariska kost.

Frukosten var väldigt fin. Höjdpunkten var "hemlagot bröd gjort med kärlek, ekologiskt mjöl, vatten från källan och surdeg gjord av ett äpple som plockades i Vercors-bergen i Frankrike i oktober 2020". Alexandra och Philippe är bra på att känna av hur mycket/litet de ska interagera med gästerna - "fingerspitzengefuhl" som tyskarna kallar det. Skönt att slippa elektricitet - & inga problem att ladda mobilen vid stora huset. Nära "Kulturkossan" i Bjuråker som har konstutställningar. Detta är den vackraste delen av Hälsingland - gamla hippietrakter!
Bryggan kunde förlängas så att det går att ta sig i längre ut i vattnet där man inte bottnar i dyn. Litet svårt att hålla en jämn temperatur under natten, det blir lätt för varmt och sen för kallt. Frukosten hade gärna fått ingå. Lite hårda sängar. Papperslakan får gärna bytas mot textildito.

We really enjoyed a row out in the lake and then a kayak and swim too!! The fire pit to cook our tea was also great! And the sauna too!! Just perfect!! The only thing missing was a coat stand maybe in the tent for when we had wet coats to dry!!

We stayed at Frisbo Lodge for a weekend and it was fantastic. The tent was very nice with comfy beds and it was really nice to have a view of the lake both from the tent and from our open fire pit where we cooked our meals. The breakfast basket was nice and the hosts are super friendly and easy going. There are canoes you can use for free as well as sauna where you just write your name on the blackboard to book. The lake is nice for swimming and the area is nice for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. The tents are waterproof so no need to worry even if it rains 🙂

Best Glamping Lodge ever!!
This was an amazing glamping experience for us as a family. The tent we booked was the most comfortable we have ever seen. We had a great terrace in the front to relax, and the place was prepared with lots of love. We used the fireplace to have some fire, and we booked dinner and breakfast. This is a must, because the food is the most delicious we have tried during our whole trip in Sweden. The proximity to a beautiful lake is a big plus, we used the canoes and had a very nice time swimming and rowing. We strongly recommend this place and we will be back at the next opportunity.

I have been to Frisbo Lodge and Camp twice now, once in the winter and again this fall. Each time, I received a warm welcome from Alex and Philippe who are particularly accommodating and available. I stayed in one of the 3 tents, very clean, well equipped and comfortable where the purring of the stove lulled me every night! The place surrounded by nature, quiet, without pollution is simply wonderful. The starry nights are superb and, luckily, I even saw the Northern Lights for the first time in my life. As a fisherman, I was also able to enjoy a canoe on the lake every day. And the sauna (with a view!) at the end of the afternoon is a treat. I can only recommend this superb place to anyone looking for a disconnected stay (even if you receive strong and clear 4G!) to enjoy the forest and the surrounding area all year round.

Perfect place when you want to "escape" from everyday life. Everything you need is on site, comfortable tents, firewood, boat, canoes and pier in the middle of the lake. Everything is very clean and well maintained. Other guests are not noticed as the space is large around the tent we got.

Des hôtes parfaits, un lieu incroyable, une immersion dans la nature suédoise. L'expérience fut enrichissante sur tous les plans: Humain, en premier lieu, nos hôtes ont été "aux petits soins" avant, durant et même efter notre passage. Écologique, bien évidemment, med démarche clairement établie och respectée de consommer "local", (le pain frais du matin préparé et cuit sur place est à tomber par terre). Découverte, l'art du campement, déchiffrer l'environnement et en comprendre les mécanismes. Détente, enfin, med moments de pêche incroyables sur des lacs aux reflets de miroir, dans un calme absolu... Et pour finir, tout cela dans un réel confort d'un wigwam cocconing med vue imprenable sur le lac. Le retour fut douloureux et nous planifions déjà un nuovo séjour durant la période hivernale.

Very nice experience! Everything was well said. Nice tent where you could light a fire in the stove for pleasant warmth in the tent. Build a fire outside and make coffee and have a good time. There was also a good sauna. The canoe was available to borrow to paddle out to the bathing jetty. Nice lay by a pond. Would love to go there again!

The Estate
Frisbo is at 61 ° 58’31′ North latitude and 16 ° 43’00′ East longitude, halfway between Stockholm and the Arctic Circle, 45 km as the crow flies from the city of Hudiksvall, in the former province of Hälsingland.
You get there by a track through the forest and the lakes. The camp is set in a fully wooded area in the middle of a huge forest, on the banks of the Hilltjärn, a small wild and fishy lake.
Practical Information
Come as you are and enjoy beautiful nature!
– How you will sleep: Each tent has 2 beds with mattress protection, 4 pillows and 2 to 4 heavy blankets depending on the season. You can bring your own linens or sleeping bags if you want.The wigwam has full bed linens, a double quilt and 2 heavy blankets.
– Wood and water: The tents are lit with candle lamps and heated with a woodstove. We provide the wood.
Each tent has a can of 20 liters of water from our source which you can refill according to your needs.
– Food: There is a « food cache » with a few staples (salt, sugar, coffee, flour…) and kitchen utensils, cups, plates, cutlery, pans, pots that are free to use. You can bring your own food and cook on the firepit near each tent and we provide a little gas stove in the food cache. The wigwam has its own little kitchen and firepit. Each tent has its table and bench.
You can also order from us:
– a breakfast basket: 170 kr/pers : homemade bread, coffee, tea, juice, butter, jam, cheese, fruit, eggs. We bring it at your tent at the time of your choice.
– a dinner basket: 300 kr/pers: Coleslaw, baked potatoes, sausages you grill on the firepit, homemade bread, dessert. We also bring it at your tent at the time of your choice.
All products are local and/or organic.
– Bastu (sauna) and canoes: the bastu and canoes are free to use. You can book your own private time at the bastu by putting your name on the board near the door.
– We do not use chemicals, and ask you to do the same, the quality of the lake water depends on it.
– In the winter, you should dress warmly and have boots for the deep snow. We also recommend to bring slippers and a headlight as it is night quite early.
– We can also provide:
